Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, they are on a mission to enhance lives through scent. To support this vision, we are seeking a dynamic and visionary IT Generalist to join their team.
We are looking for a proactive and visionary IT Generalist to lead IT initiatives and fortify our clients IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Manager, Digital Product, the IT Generalist will play a pivotal role in reshaping their IT landscape, ensuring the security, efficiency, and resilience of their digital platforms.
The IT Generalist will be responsible for day-to-day IT support, hardware and infrastructure management, and the establishment of best practices. Additionally, they will spearhead strategic IT initiatives, align IT practices with industry standards, and implement efficient backup and recovery systems. Their influence will extend across departments, enhancing productivity, ensuring data integrity, and strengthening the company’s overall IT framework.

This position requires the successful candidate to work hybrid being onsite a few days per month and as required at their office downtown Vancouver.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Setup and maintain endpoints, including workstations, peripherals for both on-premise
and remote networked equipment in a (mostly) Apple and Windows based environment using a MDM and remote tools.
Support resolution and escalation of IT desk support issues with external MSP vendor;
providing technical systems support to both in-house and remote employees.
Support and administer access to cloud services, managing IAM, SSO with IdP
Manage inventory of applications, and proactively update and maintain platforms,
ensuring business continuity.
Execute on projects to continuously enhance AromaTech’s technological capabilities,
including initiatives to improve IT maturity.
Continuously evaluate and improve existing IT infrastructure and assess suitability for
cloud or other solutions.
Monitor network uptime, performance and security, evaluate security programs,
firewalls, malware and antivirus software, and proactively identify gaps to ensure
network integrity.
Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging threats, and potential opportunities while
offering recommendations to enhance IT operations.
Research and implement solutions to ensure compliance with data integrity and
warehousing regulations in relevant markets.
Provide infrastructure, sysadmin and DevOps support for systems, networks, and other
software development projects.
Be a technical advisor on systems integrations projects with external service providers
(ie. ERP, HRMS, CRM).
Some travel may be required to support operations in Phoenix, AZ.
WHAT YOU BRING:
4-7 years of General IT support or similar experience with a proven track record of achieving successful results from data-oriented decision-making.
Strong organizational skills - ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines and to keep abreast of current and future trends.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and assess workflows to capitalize on efficiency improvement opportunities.
Must be familiar with SQL databases and Networking technologies (VLANs, firewalls, VPN, DNS, Ubiquiti).
Experience writing, executing and scheduling shell scripts.
Comfortable with Unix, linux based systems, and working within a terminal environment.
Capable of solving practical problems within a logical and rigorous framework.
Ability to demonstrate logical thinking and problem-solving skills multi-tasking, time
management, self-motivation, and persistence.
Availability for “on call” hours during critical business periods.
Experience with either AWS EC2, GCP App Engine or Azure App Service
