Vice President, Digital Product Management

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Vice President of Product to join the Leadership Team of a dynamic Toronto based organization. The VP of Product will provide overall
direction and leadership in the experience, programming, and product portfolio. You will have the opportunity to not only manage the product portfolio that currently exists but will also be responsible to shape the future suite of digital products.

Reporting to the CEO and a member of the Executive Team, the VP, of Product is tasked with driving effective product lifecycle management to help the product portfolio achieve the desired client and business outcomes.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our product vision. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around driving product strategy, overseeing roadmap development and prioritization and leveraging market intelligence to align our offerings with the evolving needs and desires of our stakeholders.

We seek a candidate who excels in all aspects of product leadership from foundational technical knowledge to expert user experience design and most importantly, exceptional leadership skills. You are someone who can focus on product and content development experiences that excite and drive revenue but stay true to the
science underlying them. You will lead a talented team of professionals, collaborating with cross-functional departments to create an engaging and educational environment that fosters curiosity, exploration and learning for all clients.

Major Accountabilities

Strategy, Vision and Leadership
- Contribute to the development of our strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization.
- Translate an organizational-wide strategic plan into tactics within the product team that deliver the purpose, mission and financial goals of the organization.
- Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in product experience, content and product-related matters.
- Ensure time and energy are spent at the strategic level, risk and innovation are balanced and current and future needs of the organization are addressed and anticipated.

Product Development
- Develop and champion the product vision: Establish best practices and processes for Product and Design teams to tackle complex problems.
- Shape product life cycle: orchestrate multiple strategic cross-functional initiatives that include the following product lifecycle activities: Market feedback, portfolio-wide planning, launch readiness and risk management, data-enablement for key initiatives to make better client-oriented decisions and providing execution visibility to key stakeholders.
- Product Management: Define, implement and manage the product portfolio.
- Roadmap development, task/project management, client and user feedback, product analytics, product performance monitoring, experimentation, knowledge base, etc.

Team Development/Leadership
- Build and nurture a high-performing team by providing coaching, mentorship and growth opportunities.
- Foster and promote an environment that identifies and recognizes potential and promotes the growth and advancement of individuals.

Job Requirements
- A university degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Product lifecycle experience 10+ years of experience working in one or more facets of the product lifecycle is essential, as this role requires strong experience and deep knowledge of end-to-end product lifecycle activities from concept to product development, requirements gathering, release planning, go-to-market activities, post-implementation support and customer adoption.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: A successful product operations leader should be able to collaborate effectively with different teams including client outreach, client acquisition, and client experience to ensure that the product meets the needs of all stakeholders.
- Leadership: Leadership skills are crucial for this role as the Product Leader will be responsible for leading a team, setting priorities, and making decisions that will impact the success of the product. A strong talent magnet who can attract, retain and grow talent. Can set direction while being able to jump into the details when needed.
- Operational Excellence: The product leader should be able to create and implement processes and systems that ensure operational excellence across the organization. Some experience in complex program/project management.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: The ability to make data-driven decisions is essential for this role as the product leader will be responsible for tracking and analyzing product metrics to inform product strategy and drive business outcomes.
- Impactful Reporting and Executive Communications: Product Leader should be able to create and present clear and concise reports that communicate product performance and progress to executive stakeholders.
