Head of Ecommerce
Our client, one of North America’s leading apparel retailers, is looking for a Head of Ecommerce to develop and execute their ecommerce strategy to drive profitable online growth.

The Head of Ecommerce will oversee all activities within retailer sites including customer and seasonal offers, brand experiences, promotions, digital optimizations, and more.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Ecommerce will have responsibility over the P&L while developing and executing an ecommerce strategy that promotes online growth in alignment with business goals and priorities. They will forecast product demand and oversee online sales performance activities.

The Head of Ecommerce fosters relationships across the organization, collaborating with marketing to ensure the site is optimized and in alignment with digital marketing goals and brand guidelines. Leading an ecommerce and creative team, they are a proven leader able to inspire and lead a team towards executing a common goal.
The successful candidate will continuously monitor sales and analyze digital marketing performance making ongoing improvements to optimize the entire ecommerce experience. They will identify key drivers of sales and identify opportunities while driving digital activities.
The successful candidate will work onsite at their office in Toronto.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Initiate and lead Company e-commerce strategy and drive website development through implementation of industry best practices
Establish innovative ideas to help drive sales and traffic to sites
Ensure sites are current with new items posted and old items deleted; ensure that all markdowns/specials have been identified
Maintain optimal level of customer service at all times and ensure simplicity in the service. Analyze online experience of customer and make improvements
Lead and coordinate all internal departments such as; Operations, Merchandising, Warehouse, Customer Service and Marketing; in the launch and the ongoing growth of online business
Manage a weekly scheduled meeting to review e-commerce updates
Participate in weekly marketing meetings
Manage the e-commerce warehouse, ensuring that orders are sent and delivery timelines are met; negotiating shipping rates with Canada Post; ensuring the efficient tracking of all orders/sales/returns
Partner with the photography studio to ensure the effective execution of creative concepts
Develop e-commerce marketing campaigns to drive awareness and consumer acceptance in the marketplace
Ensure strong brand integration with base marketing initiatives
Recommend and lead CRM strategy to expand and maximize usage of Company databases to drive results and connect with key customers
Liaise with the Buying and Planning departments to conduct ongoing trend and sales analysis, review sell through and out of stock stats and make proactive recommendations based on analysis
Preparation, analysis and evaluation of weekly reports, including site traffic statistics
Oversee Shopify partnership in development and any other initiatives/concerns
Analyze and report on all department expenses monthly
Analyze and compare SEO (Search Engine Optimization) health against other competitor successes. Apply continuous effort at providing improved SEO tactics to each website in terms of keyword use, page structure, inbound links and SEO techniques
Ensure that Copyright, as well as Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are updated annually and are current as to legalities
Provide training, guidance and support in the development of concepts, strategies, planning, implementation, and coordination of e-commerce marketing projects. Share proven methods and concepts to improve subscriber/customer acquisition and retention, increase conversion rates and produce a better overall shopping experience
Build and maintain relationships with web marketing alliances. Leverage group influence to establish high-level cross-promotional and branding opportunities (contests, prizes, in-store sampling, etc.)
WHAT YOU BRING:
Minimum 8 years’ experience in ecommerce, preferably in a fashion retail setting. Expertise in digital marketing is an asset
Post-Secondary education in Marketing and/or related experience is a must
Thorough understanding of online retailing, online analytics and CRM database marketing
Online media experience working with Shopify
