Director, Sales & Marketing

In this prominent leadership role, we're seeking an energetic, results-driven, and innovative trailblazer in the field of sales and marketing. The Director of Sales and Marketing will serve as the driving force behind the strategic evolution of sales and marketing operations, with a paramount goal of amplifying sales and expanding market reach across all esteemed brands.

This role entails crafting a strategic marketing blueprint, supported by the deployment of tools and resources for its implementation. Equally significant, the position involves delivering dynamic leadership and mentorship to the existing team while concurrently cultivating a dynamic and versatile sales and marketing department.

The position, offering a hybrid work arrangement, is based in Montreal, specifically Saint Laurent. Potential travel commitments include international trade shows and critical customer presentations.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify growth opportunities and create and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to strengthen the organization’s efforts to define and meet sales targets, expand market reach, and develop and cultivate relationships with clients. 

  • Drive revenue growth through effective sales planning, execution, and performance tracking, leveraging both direct and indirect sales channels.

  • Gather, investigate, and summarize market data and trends and make recommendations to Executive Leadership. 

  • Utilize market research, sales analytics, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement in sales and marketing initiatives.

  • Leadership regarding marketing and sales strategies. 

  • Diversify and strengthen product and sales strategies, including direct selling. 

  • Guide the focus and rollout of marketing campaigns, including, but not limited to, market definition and segmentation and inbound and outbound efforts, both print media and digital. 

  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including Editorial, Design, Production, and Operations, to align sales and marketing efforts with overall business objectives.

  • Develop, foster, and maintain solid relationships with retail customers, sales agents, outside agencies and licensors. 

  • Maintain deep, up-to-date understanding of market trends and landscape. 

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant comprehensive experience is required, a MBA or similar post-secondary degree is preferred. 

  • A minimum of 5–8 years hiring, growing and managing high-performing sales and marketing teams.

  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, expanding market reach, and executing successful marketing campaigns.

  • Knowledge and application of a wide range of marketing and sales techniques and concepts and a proficiency in leveraging SEO, social media, and other digital tools. 

  • Experience leading and managing diverse teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Experience evaluating operational inefficiencies and collaborating to create comprehensive solutions. 

  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to find creative business-oriented solutions to problems. 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with deep experience working effectively and collaboratively across teams. 

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and motivate teams to stay focused on deadlines. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
