Digital Media Director

Our marketing and communications agency client is seeking a Digital Media Director with 7 or more years of progressive experience in digital media execution, planning, and leadership roles. Preference is for a candidate located in Edmonton or Western Canada, though remote work from other locations in Canada is possible.


The agency is known for its creative and collaborative culture, fostering an environment where team members thrive and excel. The Digital Media Director is a senior, strategic, supervisory, and client-facing position within the media department. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Media, this role also involves regular interaction with senior leadership and clients. The media department is the largest within the agency, managing approximately $20 million in media across both traditional and digital channels annually for regional and national clients. The Digital Media Director will provide leadership and mentorship to team members focused on digital media, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the agency’s digital media planning and buying.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with department leaders to implement strategies that align with department and agency goals

  • Supporting and mentoring a team of media professionals

  • Engaging directly with clients and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes on client business objectives


Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in digital marketing within an agency or corporate marketing department, with a preference for experience in retail or financial services marketing.

  • A proven track record in developing and executing performance-driven digital media strategies.

  • Strong knowledge of Google Ads, social media advertising, Google Analytics, programmatic buying, and other digital platforms.

  • Innovative and strategic thought leadership that contributes to client success and team growth.

  • Experience managing diverse client portfolios, including large and complex accounts.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
