Head of Marketing
We are seeking a dynamic Head of Marketing to join a high-growth eCommerce DTC startup operating in the modern lifestyle consumer retail space. As the Head of Marketing you will be responsible for developing companywide brand and marketing strategy direction and develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, website traffic, and customer engagement. You will lead a team in crafting a modern and global brand vision, implement digital marketing campaigns, and level up the brand and company into a household name in the lifestyle consumer brand industry. Our client is a huge success in the Toronto startup scene with over 70 employees, Founder owned and operated, self-funded and profitable every year since inception over 10 years ago.
Responsibilities
Brand and Team Building
Craft a compelling brand vision for the company and ensure consistent execution across all traditional, retail, eCommerce and digital marketing channels.
Develop brand positioning strategies to differentiate the company in the global lifestyle consumer market.
Oversee the creation of brand assets and visual identity elements.
Build a lean Marketing team, lead, mentor and develop younger talent
E-commerce Marketing Strategy
Develop and implement comprehensive e-commerce marketing strategies to generate awareness, increase website traffic through paid and organic channels
Optimize product listings, pricing strategies, and promotions through data-driven insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the UX and customer shopping experience.
Campaign Management
Create and oversee the implementation of innovative social media and influencer marketing campaigns.
Develop campaign KPIs and metrics for measuring effectiveness.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for campaign execution.
Team Leadership and Development
Build and nurture a high-performing marketing team.
Establish clear goals and performance metrics for team members.
Implement processes to streamline operations and maximize team efficiency.
Data Analysis and Insights
Utilize data analytics tools to analyze customer behavior and market trends.
Translate data insights into actionable strategies for business growth.
Continuously monitor and evaluate marketing initiatives for optimization.
Creative Collaboration
Collaborate with the creative team to develop compelling marketing assets.
Ensure brand consistency across all creative materials and campaigns.
Provide creative direction and feedback to drive brand awareness
Website Optimization
Oversee the redevelopment, iterative design and optimization of the website.
Work with the Creative team and developers to implement site improvements.
Conduct regular audits and usability tests to enhance user experience.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Marketing, e-commerce, with at least 3 years in a senior marketing leadership role.
Expertise in Retail consumer brand building, campaign development, and leadership.
Proven experience in digital marketing, content marketing, SEO/SEM, video and PR.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and resourcefulness.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, Startup experience a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly organized and able to set priorities effectively
